Qul of Mian Sharif, the father of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former chief minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, was held here on Tuesday. A large number of people from all walks of life, including PML-N leaders and workers, leaders of political parties and leading businessmen were present on the occasion. Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmed told newsmen after the Qul that anti-Musharraf public meetings would begin from Karachi on November 28, and would conclude in Rawalpindi.
He said anti-Musharraf movement would be peaceful and they have no intention creating chaos in the country, rather they want to restore political system in the country.
To a question, he said that the ARD and MMA were together in the National Assembly and they want restoration of the constitution in its original shape. "General Musharraf is betraying his promise he made in the 17th amendment by declining to lay off his uniform. We do not accept him as the President of Pakistan," he added.
According to him, it would be more appropriate if Nawaz Sharif return to the country after a movement against General Pervez Musharraf starts.
