The NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said that the MMA government in the province is giving due attention for protection of lives, honour and properties of minorities as well as ensuring their welfare as he said, "it is our religious, moral and constitutional obligation."
He was talking to Gorsern Lal, a minority MPA, who called on him at Markaz-e-Mushawarat Peshawar on Tuesday and apprised him of the problems and difficulties being faced by the minority community. Provincial Minister for Environment Shahraz Khan was also present on this occasion.
Siraj said that the provincial government was sincerely making efforts to solve individual and collective problems of the minority communities, while all necessary arrangements were being made to provide them basic amenities, especially the health and education facilities, on top priority basis.
He said that his government was giving the minorities same respectable status in the society that was guaranteed by Islam.
The Senior Minister said that 22,000 minority citizens were living in the province quite peacefully with all basic freedom while the MMA government enjoyed full support of the minority MPAs for which his government was thankful to them and would not betray their confidence at any cost.
