The chairman, Pakistan Cricket Control Board (PCB), Shaharyar Khan, has said that Meera Phailbus has agreed to become the National Convener of Women's cricket in Pakistan. Mrs Phailbus has recently retired after 32 years as the principal of Kinnaird College, Lahore. She enjoys an outstanding reputation in education circle for her experience as an educationist and organiser of women sports.
Meanwhile, former Test cricketer Imtiaz Ahmed has agreed to act as advisor on women's cricket in Pakistan.
Moreover, the PCB will shortly draw up a charter of responsibilities in order to put women's cricket firmly on the map in Pakistan.
