The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has set a three-month timeframe for issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC) to those housing societies, which fulfill the required criteria of the civic body, Business Recorder reliably learnt on Wednesday.
The decision was taken during an important meeting of the CDA board presided over by the authority's Chairman Kamran Lashari. All the members of the board also attended the meeting.
Now the CDA Directorate is bound to give NOC to any housing society within three months from the date of submission of any application with the civic body if it comply with all the legal and departmental procedures, the board said.
The CDA has also deferred the decision to issue NOC to Anchor Housing Society of Pakistan Navy till next board meeting to be held after Eid as it was not fulfilling the necessary legal requirements, sources said.
The board also took several important decisions during the meeting and approved allotment of at least 23 plots reserved for private educational institutions in H-11 and G-11 sectors.
For this purpose, the CDA had earlier received several applications, out of which 23 were short-listed for allotment, the sources said.
Similarly, the board has decided, in principle, to increase the covered areas of all residential units of the federal capital to facilitate the residents. It also approved a comprehensive plan to extend the lease agreement from existing 33 years to 66 years, the sources said, adding that the board also renewed the lease period for the CDA land located in Islamabad.
Kamran Lashari also issued directives to the Environment Directorate to construct an amusement park and a jogging track for children in Super Market that would be undertaken by a private investor who will pay over Rs 0.1 million as monthly rent to the CDA, the sources added.
The board has also decided to upgrade the post of Cost Accountant from BPS 17 to 18.
The meeting also reviewed overall performance of the civic authority and the chairman informed the board members about the decisions taken by the federal cabinet in its meeting held last week.
