KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has sought public support, on humanitarian grounds, for release of persons on-board a vessel 'MV Albedo,' abducted ten months ago by Somali pirates.
He was talking to families of abductees, who met him along with CPLC Chief Ahmed Chenoy, at Governor House here, said a statement.
Dr. Ebad said same cooperation which had been extended by the people in release of abductees of ship MV Suez, is required for release of persons kidnapped from 'MV Albedo'.
The Sindh Governor hoped that we would succeed to get the abductees of MV Albedo released with the cooperation of the masses.
He said all out efforts would be made for release of all abductees including seven belonging to Pakistan and 16 others.
Envoys of the countries of other abductees would also be contacted in this regard, he added.
The statement said besides Pakistani nationals, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis, Indians and Iranian are also among the abducted persons.
