Arval D. Headrick, vice chairman and chief executive, Global Strategy and Development, the Transoceanic Shipping Company, USA, respectively has expressed interest in setting up an exclusive private area, near Karachi Port for handling and storage of all types of cargo specifically destined for Afghanistan.
Speaking in a meeting at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), he said the company would take care of all responsibilities/formalities for its safe and secured transportation to Afghanistan.
According to KCCI press release, he said the house that trans-oceanic has been providing an increasingly comprehensive package of integrated logistics and material handling services to the global transportation community since 1947.
Welcoming the guest, KCCI Acting President Mian Abrar Ahmed appreciated the idea, and said that provision of such facility to our neighbouring landlocked country would greatly facilitate the Afghan businessmen and foreign companies as well, who are working on different projects in Afghanistan.-PR
