Sialkot-Wazirabad Road would be converted into dual-way, and the work on this mega project would be executed at a cost of Rs 870 million in near future, official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday.
They said the government has taken the step not only for improving the means of communication on this sector, but also accelerated the export activities.
The improvement in Sialkot-Wazirabad Road would play an instrumental role in bringing big boom in exports because the Sialkot dry port was successfully functioning on this track and catering for the need of entire Gujranwala division.
Besides, the Sialkot Export Processing Zone (SEPZ), it had also been established on the same track, while this road would also help in reaching the Sialkot International Airport in a speedy and comfortable way.
