Pakistan's industrialists, suppliers and exporters have been advised to take advantage of the opportunities in China South City which is being developed as a commercial city at the southern end of China close to Hong Kong, SAR of People's Republic of China.
The Consul-General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, along with other Consuls-General based in Hong Kong, was recently invited by the administration of new China South City for site visiting of the commercial city. Based on the briefing given by the concerned officials, the Consul-General has informed the Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, about the city's potentials and the opportunities it offers to businessmen.
China South City is an integrated multi-functional project to facilitate trading, exhibition, information, distribution, financial transactions and warehouse facilities all in one. This area will also have offices of all relevant government departments and functionaries of People's Republic of China for providing ready assistance to the users ie the leases of the area.
The project is multi-functional expo centre which has wider and more comprehensive facilities than any normal expo centre anywhere in the world.
It has display units of different sizes, ranging in area from of 80 sq metre to 350 sq metre in two or three storeys for leasing out to the desirous businessmen. The ground floor is reserved for display of products, machinery etc, while the middle and upper floors are to be used as office and storage of a firm.
To quickly develop this town having all utilities, services and infrastructure available the following incentives have been given for applicants/businessmen willing to utilise the facility:
-- there is an offer of six months rent-free use of facility with a three years tenancy agreement.
-- 27 percent yield in three years have been guaranteed.
-- All logistics and e-commerce services are available.
It is 30 minutes drive from the main border city of China, Shenzhen. It has an airport, getting all daily domestic flights from different cities of mainland China, including Beijing.
This new China South City appears to have potential to become as one of the commercial hubs in the delta of South Hong Kong and Macao area. It has promising opportunities for country's industrial materials and all products to be exported into a fast market of mainland China and its re-exports.
The Consulate-General has, therefore, strongly recommended that the Ministry of Commerce issue its special bulletin and use its offices to communicate this available opportunity/facilities for industrialists, suppliers and exporters of Pakistan to capitalise on this opportunity. "Pakistan can have its small foothold in the gateway to mainland China."
