Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro will perform the inauguration of Lahore Stock Exchange's Faisalabad trading floor on November 24. "Some 32 Lahore-based members of the bourse are setting up their offices at Faisalabad Trading Floor premises," said Chairman LSE, Syed Asim Zafar while talking to APP on Wednesday.
He said that five out of 32 offices would be handed over to the members on Thursday (today), while the rest were scheduled to be given by November 24.
He expressed hope that opening of the trading floor at Faisalabad was likely to jack the trading volume of the bourse by 10 percent which presently stands on average at 80 million shares per day.
Zafar said that LSE had also acquired premises for its trading floor in Sialkot, and added that applications had been invited for the opening of offices by members.
"We are hopeful that a significant number of members will avail this opportunity" he observed.
After Faisalabad and Sialkot, LSE plans to open such trading floors in other big cities like Gujranwala and Multan.
