Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Muhammad Wasi Zafar has said country's Judicial system will be reviewed to provide cheap and easy justice to people. Initiative has been taken to introduce amendments in laws by addressing certain clauses creating hurdles in smooth functioning of the Judicial system, he told PTV.
Amendments in many laws have been proposed and would be tabled before the Federal Cabinet for approval.
"Thrust of these amendments is to ensure provision of easy and cheaper Justice to the masses and for speedy trial of cases. Administrative and procedural amendments in criminal and civil laws would be introduced."
"A package will be offered to revive and refine lower and higher Judiciary, session, civil and special courts during the current month," he added.
Answering a question he said, all legal advisors associated with departments and ministries would be replaced with competent lawyers on merit.
To a question he said, courts in Pakistan were absolutely free. Courts will decide the fate of all prisoners including Asif Ali Zardari and Javed Hashmi.
"Government cannot release these prisoners on its own. If cases against them are bogus, they will certainly get Justice from relevant courts."
Answering to another question the Law minister said Judges of superior courts are not required to take fresh oath as 17th amendment in the constitution has already validated the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
