Opposition to launch anti-government movement after Eid: Qazi

Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, who is also the President of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has said that MMA was not putting itself in any grand alliance with Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD), however a joint protest movement would be launched against the government soon after Eid.
Qazi termed the murder of Mufti Jamil and other 'Ulemas' a deep conspiracy, alleging that agencies had been involved in such activities, however, 'Ulemas' and people would face the situation with passion and consistency.
He stated this on Thursday during his visit to Jamia Binoria, a renowned 'madarsa' (seminary) to express condolence over the sad demise of Mufti Jamil and Maulana Nazeer Tonsvi.
Talking to newsmen, Qazi said that it had been the prime target of government to give sectarian colour to the killing of 'Ulemas' so that the image of the religious parties, seminaries and 'Ulemas' could be deformed.
He said that despite providing information about the killers of Mufti Shamzai, government had failed to take action against them.
"Before the murder of Shamzai, many 'Ulemas' were killed and later on Mufti Jamil and Maulana Nazeer were killed by the assailants, but government has failed to track them down, this shows that government and its agencies were behind these killings."
The alliance leader recalled that at the time of Mufti Shamzai's murder police had discontinued its patrolling, while the mobile, which used to deploy there, was not around.
Qazi said that government and its agencies had been failed to safeguard the life and property of the people. Therefore, he said, MMA and Ulema had decided to have contact with people as the policies of the government had unsecured the people and country.
Regarding the US election, Qazi said that it didn't matter whether Bush or Kerry win, both were in contest to get support of Indian and Jewish lobbies.
Commenting on the recent stand of President Musharraf on Kashmir issue, Qazi said it was clear deviation from Pakistan's strong and principal stand on Kashmir and ignorance towards the historical facts.
"General Sahab wanted to divide Kashmir into pieces, Kashmir has been an incomplete agenda of the partition of the Subcontinent, this formula is to be completed." Qazi emphasised on the need of close co-operation and understanding between MMA and ARD.
