The rupee on Thursday maintained its surge versus the dollar in the interbank market, gaining six paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 60.50 and Rs 60.57, respectively. Market players said the rupee has managed to expand its ground due to corrective measures taken by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The continued watch over the currency fluctuations might enable the rupee to sustain its firmness versus the greenback, they added.
In the overseas markets, the dollar has failed to come out of weak spell versus the leading currencies amid the US post-election session, they said.
