Solid cancerous tumours have multifarious treatments according to their types and stages. The commonest treatments are: surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy in combination. In advanced and widespread inoperable cases and also in conjunction with the foregoing treatment, additional methods include reactivating the immune-system by vitamins and minerals.
Vitamin A and Vitamin E are known as anti-cancerous vitamins. Herbal tea and the 'Mistletoe drips' have also been found to give good results. Ayurvedic (Chawanaprash) and relaxation therapy like 'yoga' or meditation have also yielded good results.
Substances that reduce the blood supply (anti-angioplastic) also give the desired results. Also anti-bodies against cancer can be stimulated by colony stimulating factors and 'inter-leukine' therapy for malignant tumours. In the last but not in the least, immunotherapy, which is used in conjunction with standard treatment, BCG vaccination repeated twice a week or 'levamisole' also have a role and require continued monitoring with blood test, CP ESR, and cancer markers.
In the USA, the statistics have shown that the BCG vaccinated persons are less prone to malignancy.
The days are gone when people used to think that cancer was the end of life. I can recall an invitation from the European Cancer conference held in Germany in 1990, after my article on immunotherapy was published in the Pakistan Journal of Otolaryngology in 1990.
My personal trial of immunotherapy in the Northern Areas of the country has also produced very encouraging results in advanced cancer cases of prostate, breast, colon, head and the neck.
So my advice to such patients is be happy and enjoy life along with the above treatment.
