The pollution-related diseases in the country have increased seven times as the dry weather continues to persist throughout the country for the last couple of weeks. The dust particles, coupled with micro bacterial diseases and hazardous smoke of vehicles, are spread in the air due to constant dry weather.
According to medical experts, the number of respiratory diseases had multiplied seven times during the last one month in the country in general and in Punjab in particular.
The people were inflicted with throat and chest infection, flu, irritation in eyes, respiratory and lungs diseases as they were inhaling dust particles and fumes containing dangerous bacteria.
The pollution level has increased manifold because of dry weather, especially in major cities, said an environmentalist.
