BADIN: Amir of Jamat e Islami, Syed Munawwar Hassan, has said All Parties Conference (APC) organized by PPP government managed to generate a clear message of unity among political parties of the country.
"It was well communicated to the world that despite their differences all political parties were united to protect sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan," he said.
Talking to journalists during his visit to relief camps at Tando Bago, Shadi Larg, Keiti Junejo and Dhari Chal, in district Badin, he said the world in general must understand that no compromise could be made against the interests of the country.
As for relief work in rain affected areas, he said this demanded absolute transparency.
Assistance provided by the government and relief work undertaken by other political parties, NGOs etc must be duly scrutinized.
"Being stake-holders we all have to be accountable and must also ensure that transparency is maintained in distribution of goods as well as money," said Syed Munawar Hassan.
The JI Chief said responsibility in this context is all the more on the government.
About the support work undertaken by JI workers and volunteers associated with the party's integral wing Al-Khidmat Foundation, he said this was being realized as a sacred responsibility.
"JI believes that people owe to it," he said.
Syed Munwaar Hassan accompanied by former Amir of JI -Sindh, Asadullah Bhutto, current provincial chief, Syed Mumtaz Hussain, Amir of Badin district, Syed Daud Shah, Head of Al Khidmat in Badin, Abdul Latif Khoso, Mujahid Channa, Dr. Tabassum Jafery also distributed relief goods via boat among the people at Keti Junejo and Wadhri Chak.
