Partly Facetious: Sheikh Sahib is just fascinating

"There is something about Sheikh Sahib that I find extremely fascinating."
Published November 6, 2004

"There is something about Sheikh Sahib that I find extremely fascinating."
"It's his Punjabi style of clothes and..."
"No it is not that! Mushahid as the born again PML (Lota) with the ever burgeoning shalwar-qameez's is a much better example of that."
"Its his style of speech. I mean he could be talking any language and it seems as if he is talking Punjabi."
"No not even that! Though mind it is rather disconcerting. I mean when ever I hear him I understand what he is saying but if you ask me what language he was speaking I would invariably say Punjabi."
"Maybe its his dedication to one master at a time, and his unceremonious dumping of a past supposedly much loved master in the twinkling of an eye."
"Nope not even that. I mean that is a trait that is common to all our politicians."
"The Jiyalas, Nawalas and the Maulanas would not agree."
"They should. They are Lotas too, though not Musharraf's."
"Ah I get your drift. Anyway did you hear of Bush's reelection?"
"Yes who hasn't! Even Sheikh Sahib has."
"And what did he have to say about that?"
"In his words the 'majority of Muslims are not happy over the victory of Bush but they expect that he will adopt unique policies to win their support'".
"Speaking for the entire Muslim world now is he instead of just for the President?"
"He isn't the President's spokesman. He was Jamali's choice or perhaps the Chaudhry's and now the Chosen One has inherited him!"
"Yeah I guess."
"Besides he talks when he wants to. It doesn't matter to him if he is talking on behalf of the Pakistani government, the Muslim Ummah or indeed the US President. I suppose he feels as he is in the business of information..."
"I thought he was more in the business of disinformation."
"I resent that! Disinformation! I mean surely not. Mushahid will be so upset. Wasn't he supposed to have been one of the best disinformation masters Mian Sahib could have had."
"Mian Sahib had limitations..."
"Ah yes! Nice twist that!"
