Former Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has urged Islamabad and New Delhi to take the ongoing 'composite' dialogue process between the two countries to resolve all conflicting issues, including Kashmir, to the 'logical end'.
Talking to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan, Vajpayee said the opposition parties would fully support new Indian administration under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in carrying forward the peace process with Islamabad.
Imran, who is currently in India to attend an international conference on South Asian peace perspective, called on Vajpayee at latter's residence in New Delhi, said a statement issued from PTI secretariat here on Sunday.
Imran is scheduled to meet head of ruling Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi on Monday at her residence. Imran and Vajpayee discussed the prospects of ongoing 'composite' dialogue between the two countries to resolve Kashmir issue.
Vajpayee expressed hope that the dialogue would continue despite the change of government in India, as the people on both sides want peace and harmony.
Imran underlined the need for 'political will and sincerity' at government level on both sides to find a 'just' solution of the lingering Kashmir dispute. "Pakistan needs to have better ties with India and the just resolution of the Kashmir dispute is in the interest of people of both sides," said Imran.-PR
