NWFP Environment Minister Shah Raz Khan has said that masses of Malakand while showing their traditional enthusiasm and due reverence for Islam would cast their votes in favour of the MMA candidate, Bakhtiar Maani, in the next elections on NA-35 Malakand seat. Flanked by the Bakhtiar Maani, the minister was talking to various delegations from Malakand at his office.
The minister said the MMA had declared Bakhtiar Maani as its nominee for the elections on NA-35 Malakand seat, adding that this decision on the part of MMA leadership would be further strengthen the alliance and would also boost its image.
He said the MMA leaders, including Qazi Hussein Ahmad, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani and Senior Minister Sirajul Haq will visit Malakand and address the masses soon after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Referring to Salim Saifullah's promises to extend gas and power facility to Malakand, Shah Raz Khan said it was not the job of Salim Saifullah Khan to facilitate the people of Malakand and made it clear that it was the responsibility of MMA-led provincial government to facilitate people.
He said: "We are well aware of our responsibilities and are capable of shouldering these responsibilities", adding the MMA government had started developmental schemes worth millions of rupee which is unprecedented in the country's history.
The minister said the allocation of Rs 460 million for Malakand Road, Rs 200 million for Batkheila Hospital, Rs 45 million for Landaki water channel, Rs 110 million for Dargai Hospital, Rs 72.559 for Agrah, Rs 24.232 million for Palai, Rs 3.554 million for Khado, and 115.295 million for Dargai, was the achievement of the present MMA government, adding that work on most of these developmental projects had been started.
The MMA candidate Bakhtiar Maani on this occasion said that Salim Saifullah Khan and other had nothing to do with the well-being of the masses of Malakand, and said that they were just trying to deceive the people for their political gains.
