Sugar and wheat prices maintained surge as Ramazan entered third week, while other commodities showed modest fluctuations on the wholesale markets during the week ended on November 6, 2004.
The commodities underwent changes were sugar, guwar, wheat, cotton cakes, castorseeds, barley, Irri white, tea rapeseed cakes etc.
On the grain side, barley Sindh and Mardan posted a gain of Rs 50 to Rs 1250. Guwar better type gained same amount to Rs 1900 and inferior type was up Rs 100 to all stations to Rs 1800.
Irri rice white down by Rs 20 to Rs 1030, and Rs 1035, sugar up by Rs 50 to Rs 2050, and better quoted at Rs 2080 per 100 kg. Wheat up Rs 10 to Rs 1290, cottonseed cakes quoted at Rs 412 and Rs 422.
Tea was softer from Bangladesh Garden Pack (original) down Rs 3 to Rs 97 and Gulab down Re 1 to Rs 98.
Castorseeds, Sindh and Lasbela up Rs 50 to Rs 725, and better quoted at Rs 750, rapeseed cakes lost Rs 2 to Rs 265 and Rs 268, til Sindh better lost Rs 10 to Rs 700 while inferior was quoted at Rs 600.
Plastic mouldings under head HDPE injection Sabic 200056 down Rs 1.75 to Rs 41.25. Thai down 25 paisa to Rs 40.75. HDPE blow Kuwait up 75 paisa to Rs 39.75. Marlex up Rs 3 to Rs 44, Iran down Rs 1.50 to Rs 39.50, LDPE 374 up Rs 2 to Rs 54, MG 20 up Rs 6 to Rs 61, MG 70 up Rs 3 to Rs 60.
LLDPE W118 up 50 paisa to Rs 43.50, polypropylene film Thai down 50 paisa to Rs 43.50 Kuwait down 50 paisa to Rs 43.50, polypropylene tape grade Indian was quoted at Rs 41.87, Saudia was quoted at Rs 41.87, polypropylene injection grade Saudia down Rs 1.25 to Rs 42, India down Rs 1.25 to Rs 42, Kuwait down Rs 1.25 to Rs 42, polystyrene Pakistani quoted at Rs 3188, High Impact Pakistani was quoted at Rs 3,331, BASF was quoted at Rs 3450, ABS polylac 707 up Rs 20 to Rs 3,200 and Khumo up Rs 20 to Rs 3,120, cotton cakes lost Rs 5 to Rs 410 and Rs 415.
Friday's grain market was closed on account of Shahdat-e-Hazrat Ali (AS) day. Milk powder Poland up Rs 100 to Rs 2200, Halla SMP up Rs 50 to Rs 3800, Bailie Gold up Rs 200 to Rs 4200 and Bailie White up Rs 200 to Rs 4200.
