Former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Wattoo said that providing jobs to the people was not an offence, no political leader can't escape from the sentence if it is cognisable offence.
However, now he can't comment on this judgement case. Talking to newsmen at the residence of Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Manzoor Wattoo said that in spite of this fact that PPP was the major party in the coalition government and we had served the people for more time than majority parties.
We did work for promotion of education, provided jobs to 50,000 graduates and posted them as elementary English teachers, strengthened the administration, ended violence and sectarian terrorism with the support of Milli Yekjehti Council and the masses.
We passed a bill against wall chalking and cleansed all the walls, we launched even-handed anti encroachment drive and introduced an ideal and good governance. Imposed ban on out of turn promotions and police was inviting the people to get register their cases. We did work with political will and Almighty supported us.
Wattoo said that present provincial government is very strong enjoying the support of two third majority, while Chief Minister's elder brother is Central President of ruling party and he can do what he likes.
He further said that time must be given to this government to deliver, confrontation must be avoided to put the country on the track of progress and prosperity.
He said that now present regime was facing a severe threat from the terrorists. Murderous attempt was made on the life of President of Pakistan thrice, even attempt on life of Corps commander Karachi and Chief Minister Balochistan were made. He stressed the need for national reconciliation and unity to meet the national and international challenges.
To a question, he said that there was no foreign threat because present regime had opted a policy against terrorism and it had established friendly ties with the neighbouring countries.
