Chairman Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy, Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Wednesday announced to hold ARD meeting soon after Eid to devise strategy for launching anti-Musharraf movement jointly with Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal. He made the announcement while speaking at an Iftar party hosted by Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu Kashmir President, Ishaq Zafar here at Zardari House.
Amin Fahim said that ARD's meeting would be called after Eid to devise a comprehensive strategy.
He maintained that leaderships of the ARD and MMA are in touch with each other for launching a joint movement to ensure real democracy in the country.
The ARD chief made it clear that we have no differences with MMA including Maulana Fazlur Rehman as an opposition leader in the National Assembly.
Speaking about ARD's participation in MMA's protests, Fahim said that ARD would seriously consider the issue if invited, saying that ARD would also invite them (MMA) to join their protests.
He said objectives of the movement are to restore 1973 constitution in its original shape and convince the Army to play its constitutional role and return to barracks.
Amin Fahim said that ARD would welcome all parties who support and are interested to run this country through a democratic system, adding that Asfand Yar Wali of Awami National Party has also agreed to join them.
Speaking about the Kashmir dispute, the ARD chairman said that it should be solved according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Fahim contended that India must give up defiance and hold plebiscite in the occupied Kashmir.
He further said that the military controlled drama had been exposed there with the Indian forces being unable to even force people to vote.
