The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has extended the closure facility of steel furnaces in the interest of the consumers.
According to information made available to Business Recorder here on Saturday, the facility can be availed from November 14 to 17, 2004, from January 1 to 7, 2005 and from January 20 to 25, 2005.
Exemption from payment of proportionate fixed charges for the days' the furnaces remain closed will be given in the next electricity bill.
The consumers can avail this facility provided their last due bill stands cleared.
The steel furnace is fed through an independent feeder and the connection is running on the day immediately preceding the intended date of disconnection. The request identifying intended date of disconnection can be furnished to the Executive Engineer (Operation) concerned, the sources said.
