Information Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League, Senator Tariq Azeem Khan, has refuted the impression created in a section of the press on the statement of MQM chief Altaf Hussain that his views may have had official sanction.
Tariq said the remarks made by the MOM leader in New Delhi were his own views and certainly not that of any official quarter in Pakistan.
He said that in any case, some of these comments regarding 'Two Nation Theory' and the 'freedom struggle' were inappropriate.
He said both 'Two Nation Theory' and 'freedom struggle' received support and sacrifices from millions of Muslims from all parts of the subcontinent.
Tariq said that although the Pakistan Muslim League holds Altaf Hussain in high esteem as a popular leader and a coalition partner, such views can only create confusion which ought to be avoided since the PML and its allies are committed to work together on building a prosperous and democratic Pakistan.
