At least one person was killed and 18 others injured when a passenger bus fell into a ditch here on Friday, police and eye witnesses said. According to police, a speedy Mazda mini bus B 4525 carrying commuters from Turnol skidded off the road near G-10 market trying to overtake a parked car and fell into a deep ditch after hitting a tree, killing a man on the spot besides leaving over dozen injured.
The bus was plying on route 104 from Turnol to Pak Secretariat, police added.
The deceased has so far not been identified, police said adding that the wounded men, women and children were immediately rushed to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said that the accident could have been more fatal if the passenger coach had directly fell into the ditch.
The driver of the bus fled from the scene soon while Golra Police have registered the case.
