The Punjab Governor's Secretariat has expressed keen interest in establishment of the Punjab pavilion at the International Spring Trade Fair Asia (ISTF) 2005 exhibition and conference. The event is scheduled to be held from January 7 to 9 at the Karachi Expo Centre. According to the organisers here on Friday, the division of stalls among the provinces ensures equal chance of participation from every province.
They said that participation from Punjab would be significant and lucrative, as it was the most populous province in the country and contributing considerable share to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Pakistan.
The organisers further stated that the ISTF exhibition and conference would be a platform for local and foreign investors, stakeholders, businessmen and entrepreneurs, industrialists and policy-makers to interact and exchange business information.
They were of the view that the event would not only showcase the potential of Pakistan and create business opportunities, but it would also be a splendid effort to attract international players for investment, collaborations and outsourcing ventures with Pakistani companies.
It would also be an ideal place to identify the emerging business opportunities in all the sectors in Pakistan, they added.
The ISTF Asia 2005 exhibition and conference is being organised by the Ministry of Investment and Privatisation, Board of Investment (BoI), Government of Pakistan, Government of Sindh as well as the E-commerce Gateway, Singapore.
