Health Ministry will consider to upgrade six dispensaries running by Polyclinic Hospital with an aim to provide better health facilities to nearby localities round the clock. This was stated by Secretary Health, Syed Anwar Mehmood during his first visit to the Federal Government Services Hospital after assuming the charge. He asked the hospital management to prepare a plan in this regard so that rush and burden on the main hospital could be minimised.
He said that as a piolet project six dispensaries to be converted into advance clinics with more doctors, better diagnostic facilities, paramedical staff and sufficient medicines to cater the healthcare needs of different localities.
Talking to the doctors in answer question session he assured them for career structure so that health-professionals could get legitimate right of overdue promotions.
He handed over four ambulances equipped with all modern facilities. On the occasion the secretary advised the doctors and paramedical staff to serve ailing humanity with dedication and zeal and shun their petty differences and grouping which is harming the cause.
Earlier Dr Javed Chaudhry Medical Superintendent briefed the secretary about the working of Polyclinic Hospital.
He said that hospital with 462 beds and 28 specialities was providing advance medical care facilities to the resident of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Upper Punjab, lower NWFP, FATA, FANA and AJK.
He said that 28 dispensaries in different sectors were also providing healthcare facilities to the inmates of those sectors.
He said that during the current financial year Rs52.945 million were allocated for different development projects including to procure operation theatre tables, CT scan for radiology, equipment's, instruments for casualty etc.
