Bangladesh and Pakistan will jointly prepare strategy to face WTO challenges, said Altaf Hussain, Commerce Minister of Bangladesh at Karachi Airport on Saturday. While talking with Abrar Ahmed, Senior Vice President and Abdul Majid Haji Muhammad, Vice President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), he said that both countries would make joint investment in different sectors to strengthen their economy.
During his short stay at Karachi on way to Islamabad to attend Saarc conference, he and said that there is an urgent need to increase two-way trade.
He said that there are several problems in trade with Bangladesh, and added that they can be resolved with joint efforts.
He said that India promptly responds on trade inquiries, whereas some time Pakistan gives no response to trade inquiries. "However, we will try to improve trade conditions," he added.
Altaf said that Bangladesh would consider having joint venture with Pakistan in defence equipment production sector.
He said that both countries can capture big world market share with joint trade efforts.
He accepted KCCI invitation for dinner a meeting on November 24.
