The Adviser to Chief Minister for Health, Faisal Malik, on Saturday placed the Medico Legal Officer of Jinnah Hospital under suspension on the charges of negligence from duty and misuse of powers and ordered departmental action against him. According to details, Feroz, son of a journalist Naveed Baseer was murdered in Ferozabad area on November 10.
After formalities at police station, the victim's body was taken to Jinnah Hospital where MLO did not carry out post-mortem for 3 hours and the body was kept lying there.
This not only hurt the feelings of relatives and other citizens but also caused disrespect to the body. On the complaint, Faisal Malik held an inquiry and ordered suspension of MLO Dr Mubarak Pathan and institution of departmental action against him.
