Major city markets re-opened on Thursday after remaining inoperative for four days owing to Eid celebrations about which traders are very particular after observing fasting during holy month of Ramazan. Somewhat better trading activity was observed as holidayers had thronged the market to buy their needs.
However, on the cereals counter wheat old gained Rs 60 to Rs 1350 and new type quoted at Rs 1360.
Bajra both types picked up Rs 50 to Rs 1200 and Rs 1300, sugar inferior type was unchanged at Rs 2025 while the superior kind shed Rs 25 to Rs 2050, cottonseed cakes inferior type maintained pre-holiday session at Rs 410 but the better type shed Rs 3.
FRIDAY'S: til Sindh inferior type was unchanged at Rs 1600 but the better one gained Rs 150 to Rs 1850, cottonseed cakes superior kind rose by Rs 3 to Rs 415, while the other type maintained previous level at Rs 410, guwar low type picked up Rs 25 to Rs 1825.
At the weekend, the wheat Mexipak new and old type, lost Rs 20 to Rs 1340 and Rs 1350 on fresh arrivals.
Sugar fell low type shed Rs 45 to Rs 1980 and best type dropped by Rs 30 to Rs 2020. Gur (low quality) shed Rs 50 to Rs 1400 while good type maintained the last level.
On the seed side, cottonseed oil-cake with bag gained Rs 5 to Rs 415 and Rs 420.
