One man was killed and nearly 50 others were injured when a fire gutted about 2,000 shops at a market in Bangladesh's capital on Sunday, police and witnesses said. They said dozens of fire fighters struggled for hours to put out the blaze, which they believed was caused by a short-circuit.
The injured included at least 10 fire fighters, police said. No other details were immediately available.
