Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) received proposals and suggestions from private television channels for its proposed 'Media City' project and assured them to provide best possible facilities to fulfil the requirement of TV channels.
In this connection a special marathon session was held here at local hotel with Member Pemra Muhammad Noor Saghir in the chair which was attended by the private TV licence holders and the prospective licences to exchange views and suggestions for the Media City being set up here in the federal capital.
The Pemra would prepare recommendations based on the proposals and suggestions presented by the licences in Thursday's session for the approval of the ministry of information and broadcasting.
The licences under cross-media besides the TV channels already on air through satellite attended the session on Thursday and presented their problems, demands and suggestions to have best possible facilities for them at the Media City being developed by Pemra.
The private TV channels suggested Media cities at Lahore and Karachi too besides Islamabad as the private electronic media has been making rapid progress in these two provincial headquarters.
Appreciating the proposal to set up Media City in Islamabad, the owners of private TV channels emphasised the need that the Media City should have all the basic needs to promote television network in the country.
The facilities of up linking, customs regulations, government policies, studio facilities and other relating needs were discussed thoroughly in the meeting.
