Necessary arrangements are being given final shape for the construction of a modern hockey stadium cost more than Rs 70 million at Sialkot, official sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the construction works of the stadium would be executed in near future where all modern facilities both for players and spectators would be ensured. The ground was being prepared and processed for lying of Astroturf in the hockey stadium, sources disclosed.
The federal government had provided Rs one million while Punjab government shared Rs 30.50 million for the lying of Astroturf in the hockey stadium.
The completion of this hockey stadium would be supportive for holding national and international hockey matches besides provide modern facilities of playing and practicing on Astroturf to the local hockey players as well as help tracing out the talented players in Sialkot district and its adjoining areas, sources added.
