Five persons, including a woman and a baby girl, were killed in a road accident near Bahawalnagar Cantt when a speeding bus rammed into a taxi-cab early Friday morning. All occupants of the car - Mohammad Iqbal, his wife Mumtaz Bibi, baby daughter Ambreen and Mohammad Riaz of village Sikandarabad, who were going to attend an engagement at Toba Qalandar Shah in the taxi (1623-Karachi) driven by its owner Habib Bhatti - were killed on the spot in the crash.
The bus (3724-JA) coming from the opposite side completely crushed the car, killing its passengers and the driver, while the bus driver slipped away in the poor visibility caused by the heavy fog in the region in the morning.
According to police sources the accident may also have occurred due to the fog.
