The business at the inter-bank market ended the week on a firm note as the rupee depicted modest recovery for buying and selling at 59.80 and 59.84 per dollar, dealers said.
Easy supply of dollars boosted the rupee value, they said. Some exporters' selling eased pressure over the rupee, they observed.
In the meantime, they said, the rupee might show slight weakness versus dollar in the coming days.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee shed five paisa for buying and selling at 60.05 and60.10 for a dollar, dealers said.
They said that the rupee was under pressure on increased demand for dollars.
On rising demand, the euro maintained its appreciation versus the rupee, picking up five paisa more for buying and selling at Rs 79.00 and Rs 79.30, respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee closed the week on a negative note, as it lost its worth by seven-paisa on buying side at Rs 60.12, and five-paisa on selling side at Rs 60.20 in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets.
According to the currency dealers, after slight increase in dollar's demand, its rate started rising soon after resumption of trading in the local currency markets. The dollar opened at overnight closing levels of Rs 60.05 and Rs 60.15 on buying and selling counters, respectively. However, the dollar closed higher at Rs 60.12 and Rs 60.20 on buying and selling sides, respectively, the dealers added.
Similarly, the rupee remained under pressure and further lost its value against the pound sterling. The pound was purchased at Rs 112.70 and was sold at Rs 113.00 as compared to Rs 112.65 and Rs 112.95 of Friday, the dealers added. There was no uniformity in the pound's buying and selling rates, as some of the dealers quoted buying and selling rates at Rs 112.50 and Rs 112.90, respectively.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The buying and selling rates of dollar against the rupee remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 60 (buying) and Rs 60.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 60 (buying) and Rs 60.20 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 112.90 (buying) and Rs 113 (selling) against last rate of Rs 111.80 (buying) and Rs 111.90 (selling). It did not observe any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 112.90 (buying) and Rs 113 (selling).
Canadian dollar opened at Rs 50.50 (buying) and Rs 50.60 (selling) against last rate of Rs 50 (buying) and Rs 50.10 (selling). It did not observe any further change in the second spell and closed at Rs 50.50 (buying) and Rs 50.60 (selling).
