An Indian occupation soldier killed seven of his colleagues inside a camp in India occupied Kashmir on Sunday before being shot dead himself, while suspected freedom fighters shot dead four people, police said. The occupation trooper turned his gun on his colleagues at 12:40 am in northern Baramulla town, 55km north of occupied Srinagar.
Occupation police said the constable from India's paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force opened fire on his colleagues following an altercation.
"Six CRPF personnel were killed and three others injured in the initial firing by an agitated policeman," a police spokesman said, adding that the gunman was shot dead by one of the injured policeman.
He said one of the injured died in hospital later while the condition of two others was critical.
Two of those killed were officers, one of whom had scolded the constable on Saturday over alleged indiscipline, he said.
Meanwhile, suspected freedom fighters shot dead three of their former colleagues and a civilian in separate attacks in the troubled region, the police spokesman said on Sunday.
Mohammed Abbas, former commander of Ikhwan group was dragged out of his house by suspected freedom fighters and shot dead in southern Anantnag district on Sunday, he said.
