Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim made it clear that no one would be allowed to violate the law and order in the province in the name of taking out rallies and processions. Talking to newspersons while attending the marriage ceremony of the daughter of Pir Noor Muhammad Shah Jeelani here on Sunday he said no compromise would be made on maintenance of law and order in the province.
He said MMA was allowed to take out rally on the condition of not violating the law and order. A memorandum of code of conduct was signed between Sindh government and MMA according to which stern action would be taken if anyone dared to violate the law and order. He observed that the announced movement against the government was not a movement of MMA, but it was the movement of Kazi Hussain Ahmed.
He said Jamaat-i-Islami should give up negative politics in the best interest of the country, adding that negative politics of the party always harmed the stability of the country.
Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said those leaders of religious parties who were calling government a stooge of USA, accumulated millions of rupees in the name of Jihad from USA during the Afghanistan-Soviet war.
He also criticised MMA for opposing the constitution of National Security Council.
However, the Chief Minister appreciated the politics of Maulana Fazal Rehman, who was struggling hard for the well being of the people.
Replying to a question he said there was no water shortage in Sindh, as 50 to 60 percent irrigation water was available.
Besides, he informed that feasibility work on construction of small dams throughout Sindh including Nangarparkar was underway.
While dispelling the impression that government was not providing sufficient funds to hospitals, he informed that Rs 1200 per bed in each hospital of Sindh was being provided on per day basis, which was much more as compare to the Punjab and other provinces.
He said despite provision of sufficient funds to the hospitals by Sindh government, people were deprived of medical facilities due to mismanagement's and improper planning of the administration of the hospitals.
Sindh Chief Minister also expressed his grave concern over the emergence of dozens of polio cases in Sindh despite the carrying out of anti-polio campaign for the last many years.
The Sindh Chief Minister said he issued directives to the Health Department that action would taken against the concerned officials of area if another polio case of was detected.
Talking about the NFC Award Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said work on solution of the problem was underway and it would be announced soon with the consensus of all provinces.
Replying to another query he said Tando Allahyar Bypass would be repaired on priority basis. He said creation of new districts among thickly populated districts like Jacobabad, Dadu, Mirpurkhas and Larkana was under consideration.
He informed that Sindh cabinet would be expanded.
