The Hashmi group of the Arts Council of Karachi arranged an 'Eid Milan' party for their members on Sunday. On the occasion, the group also announced the names of office-bearers and governing body members for the forthcoming election of 2005, which will be held on 26th December 2004.
The office-bearers for the post of vice-president Syed Azfar Rizvi, an educationist, well-known in social circle; Anique Ahmed (TV compere) for honorary secretary; Rizwan Siddiqui (editor of Aahang Magazine of Radio Pakistan and a literary figure) for the post of treasurer.
The 12-member governing body consists of Professor Sahar Ansari, Saifur Rahman Girami, Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, Talat Hussain, Arshad Mahmoud, Shafi Mohammad Shah, Mohammad Ayub, Shahnaz Siddiqui, Naila Jaffery, Faisal Qureshi, Mahreen Ellahi and Javeed Sabah.
