Traffic movement has been suspended through Lowari Pass due to heavy snow fall/rainfall on Monday (November 29). This was stated in a press release of National Highway Authority (NHA) issued here on Tuesday. The traffic could only move up to Lowari Village at South and Ziarat Post at North.
The snowfall intensity at Lowari Top was 2-feet while it was 6 inch and 4 inch at Lowari Village and Ziarat Post respectively, the release stated.
It was further stated that the personnel of NHA had started snow- removing activity so that traffic movement could be restored.
It is to recall that 309-Km long Nowshera-Chakdara-Chitral road has been federalised and works for its improvement and rehabilitation has been assigned to the NHA.
NHA has divided this highway into six parts for its improvement and rehabilitation work, the release said.
