The next round of talks under the ongoing composite dialogue process to resolve all outstanding issues between the foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India have again been rescheduled for December 27 and 28 on India's request. The talks on issues of 'peace and security' and 'Jammu and Kashmir' were scheduled for December 23 and 24. The talks will be the second round of meeting between the two foreign secretaries since Pakistan and India resumed their long-stalled talks in February.
Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan told the regular briefing earlier that Pakistan had suggested December 21-22 for the talks, but India suggested alternative dates of December 23 and 24 through diplomatic channel.
"The foreign secretaries will discuss overall progress as well as subjects of peace and security, including confidence building measures (CBMs), and Jammu and Kashmir dispute", the spokesman said. The two foreign secretaries will also work out schedule of meetings on the other six items - Siachen, Wullar Barrage, Sir Creek, terrorism, and drug-trafficking, economic and commercial co-operation, and promotion of friendly exchanges.
