US stocks were little changed on Friday as a disappointing jobs report was offset by strength in tech stocks, after bellwether Intel Corp. shot 6 percent higher after raising its sales forecast. Weaker oil prices lent slight support although stocks lost their gains as crude trimmed earlier losses.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 5 points, or 0.04 percent, at 10,581. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 0.19 of a point, or 0.02 percent, at 1,190.14. But the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 6.10 points, or 0.28 percent, at 2,149.67. Earlier, the Nasdaq hit a new intraday high for the year at 2,164.63, which also was its highest level since July 2001.
