A three-day mass gathering of Muslims to attend the Biswa Ijtema began on Friday at Tongi near Dhaka. Some four million people were expected to attend the Biswa Ijtema. Organisers said the first day attracted around two million devotees. Besides Bangladeshis, around 2,500 devotees from more than 40 other countries were expected to turn out.
