The first co-located exhibition of Building and Construction Material, and Fire and Security equipment and technology concluded here on Friday. More than 93 companies from 17 countries participated in the exhibition, which was attended by a large number of highly targeted trade visitors from corporate and business sectors of the country.
Countries participating in the exhibition included Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.
Among the participating countries, Singapore participated in a big way bringing together 13 companies for the two exhibitions.
In addition to advanced fire fighting equipment, a participating company from Germany conducted a live demonstration of their hi-tech fire control and suppression equipment in the outdoor area of the exhibition centre during four days of the show, which was witnessed by the visitors with great interest.
The first-ever Fire and Security Conference, held on December 2, received an overwhelming response.
The conference was chaired by Lt. General Moinuddin Haider (retd) and addressed by the key officials from private security agencies as well as city Government.
Fire Services Incharge Karachi, Colonel Ehtesham addressing the conference informed that City Government was fully committed to the safety of citizens of Karachi.
He said there were only 10 fire stations, two to three years back, and the number had now doubled to provide coverage to the whole city.
Provincial Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui inaugurated the exhibition on November 30.
