Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Pakistan will hold a two-day conference on 'Private Media in Pakistan' on December 6 and 7 at a local hotel here. Experts and media professionals from Germany, South Asia and Pakistan will deliberate on various aspects of emerging new media scene and allied challenges to a liberal perspective.
The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Senator Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli would be the keynote speaker at the conference.
The conference, which would bring together a galaxy of media stars would also be accompanied by an exhibition titled, 'History of Broadcasting through the Ages'. Stalls of various products like old radio sets and other equipment are part of the exhibition.
Vendors and companies interested in exhibiting their goods should contact the FNF Islamabad office for the purpose.
Pakistani media environment is going through a rapid transformation. Besides vibrant print media, number of FM radio stations, cable television networks, satellite television and interactive web sites on the Internet are catering to the citizen's information needs. Though it has a strong hearing on future of democracy and civil society, there is very little debate on this emerging media environment.
