Tea associations of Pakistan and Bangladesh have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint co-operation to promote tea marketing. Bangladesh Tea Association chairman M. Wahidul Haque and his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Altaf signed the MoU. Speaking on the occasion, Bangladesh Tea Board chairman Brigadier General Tauhid, informed the tea business community that the board has taken up the issue of direct shipping service between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
He said the board is well aware of problems of the tea business community and added that non-existence of direct shipping service causing delay in transporting tea consignments.
Wahidul Haque said during their stay in Pakistan, the Bangladeshi tea delegation will visit Islamabad and Peshawar to boost tea trade.
He invited Pakistani business community to visit Bangladesh to see the existing opportunities of co-operation in tea and other sectors.
Welcoming the guests, Altaf complaint that tea coming from Bangladesh has different quality and packing, which create doubts about Bangladeshi tea quality.
