Karachi Council of Foreign Relations, Economic Affairs and Law Chairman former Chief Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman has called for an international agreement on defining the term 'terrorist'. He stated this while speaking at a seminar "Achievements, failures and future prospects of Saarc" organised by KCFREAL to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the founding of Saarc at a local here on Tuesday.
Indian High Commissioner Shiv Shanker Menon, Sri Lankan Consul General D'Silva, Honorary Consul of Nepal Chahpra, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui and KCFREAL Secretary General Mukhtar Ahmed Zuberi were present on the occasion.
Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui during the question-answer session said that the United Nations too had not come up with a definition of the word 'terrorist'. He said that there was a need for an international protocol embodying the agreed definition of the word 'terrorist'. Until such definition was agreed upon by all the nations of the world the fight against international terrorism would remain ineffective.
