Police apprehended five members of Taj alias Tajo dacoits' gang during a raid and seized stolen goods worth millions of rupees from their possession on Monday night. According to police, a team led by Incharge Investigation Cell Sadr Riaz Abbas on a tip-off, raided a graveyard is situated between local High School and Railway Station and arrested the gang leader.
Taj Mochi along with Shehzad Rehmani, Mushtaq Odh, Ghulam Abbas and Mushtaq Dogar, while their accomplice Mohammad Ehsan managed to escape from the scene.
Police seized 6 motorcycles, 30 mobile sets, 10 animals, jewellery and other domestic items besides recovering 44 bore rifle, one pistol, one 7 MM, mouser and many rounds from their possession.
DPO Ch, Shahid Iqbal said that the accused were involved in more than 100 criminal cases in the districts of Sheikupura, Lahore, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Narowal and Gujranwala etc.
DPO has announced cash awards and commendatory certificates for the police officials involved in the arrest of the culprits.
