"The 17th APNS Award Ceremony will be held on December 13, 2004 at Islamabad wherein awards will be distributed among the winners of journalist and advertising awards, an announcement said here on Wednesday. The ceremony will be attended by the publishers, editors, prominent media practitioners, advertising agencies and distinguished personalities from different walks of life, ie judiciary, diplomats, political leaders, senior officials and intelligentsia, the APNS release added.
It further said the APNS President Arif Nizami has nominated Dr Muhammad Tariq Bucha of the Image Builders Lahore for Presidential Award for public relations. The APNS has also decided to present posthumous citation to the widow of Late Syed Abid in recognition of his services as public relation practitioner. The APNS has further decided to present citations to Abdul Majid, Monthly Air World Karachi and Haji Muhammad lures of Press Information Department Islamabad for their dedicated services to APNS and print media.
Moreover, the APNS has announced Zofeen T Ibrahim as the winner of Key Journalist Award 2003 on her stories on reproductive health published in Daily Dawn Karachi. The award will be given at the Awards Ceremony. The APNS has dispatched invitation cards to accredited advertising agencies, member publications and prominent invitees and guests.
