Collector of Model Customs Collectorate Azhar Majid Khalid has been given the additional charge of Collector of Customs (Appraisement) at Karachi Customs House. He has replaced Mohammad Afzal Bhatti, who has been transferred as Collector, Adjudication, Lahore. The Pakistan Customs Examining officers Association has congratulated Azhar Majeed on his new assignment, and has expressed the hope that he will resolve their problems and initiate their cases of promotions stalled for several years.
Association's General Secretary Noor Elahi Khan, in a statement, has assured the new collector that the examining officers will continue to work with honesty and devotion to earn more revenue for the department. He appealed to the new collector to take up the issue of the promotion of the examiners to the post of Appraisers, who had been serving the department for the last 16 to 18 years.
He paid rich tributes to Azhar Majeed for the accomplishment of the project of the Model Customs Collectorate, which would ensure the same day delivery of imports.
