Punjab government has notified that compensation would be paid to the bereaved families if any employee dies on duty and this compensation would be excluded from his gratuity, pension and insurance etc. If any department could not pay this compensation due to non-availability of funds or financial constraints then matter would be referred to finance department and it would provide funds for this purpose.
Official sources said here on Tuesday that this compensation would be paid like police service people. Deceased families of government employees of Grade to 5 would be entitled to get compensation of Rs 0.2 million, Grade 6 to 10 Rs 0.3 million, Grade 11 to 15 Rs 0.4 million, Grade 16 to 17 Rs 0.5 million, Grade 18 to 19 Rs 0.8 million and Grade 20 to 22 Rs one million.
