A Japanese film festival showing English subtitled versions of five Japanese films was inaugurated on Friday by Kamran Lashari, Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA). H.E. Nobuaki Tanaka, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, also graced the occasion with his presence. Laila Zuberi, renowned TV artist, attended the inaugural ceremony as the guest of honour. The remaining films will be screened at the Islamabad Club Auditorium from 11-13 December 2004 entry to which is free on a first come first serve basis.
The purpose of organising this festival is to provide more opportunities to the people of Pakistan to learn about the cultural life of Japan and experience some aspects of Japan and its society.
